CMI – Introductory Certificate in Neighbourhood Management

This Certificate is for those whose current job or community role requires them to engage with other community partners in all aspects of effective neighbourhood management.

This qualification provides an introduction to the key concepts and practices in effective neighbourhood management.

The chartered Management Institute is the only chartered professional body dedicated to management and leadership. You can therefore expect to receive the greatest possible value from this qualification.

This qualification provides an introduction to the key concepts and practices in the effective neighbourhood management. It is intended for those whose current job or community role requires them to engage formally and informally with other community partners in all aspects of effective neighbourhood management .

This qualification helps you to learn in the context of your neighbourhood
management role:
• The key themes for successful neighbourhood management
• The principles underpinning successful neighbourhood management
• Methods and tools for identifying risks indicators
• Ways of working effectively with partners to improve neighbourhood management

Content of the training:

  • What neighbourhood management is
  • The principles underpinning effective neighbourhood management
  • The importance of the engagement of all partners in establishing effective neighbourhood managements

Assessment:
1. the assessment should, wherever possible, use work-based evidence drawn from the     candidates own organisational experience
2. approved centres will have clearly identified how the organisational dimension to the     candidate's evidence and assessment will be incorporated into the assessment process
3. the assessment process will be sufficiently flexible to allow for the diversity of the     candidate organisational experience to be used, and will take into account special needs     of any candidate for whom work-based evidence will be difficult to obtain
4. the assessment process will not compromise or present any risk to candidate,     organisational or commercial confidentiality
5. the assessment process will recognise equal opportunities issues, will take due account     of the values and ethics of management, and will focus on the application of the     concepts of management in practice 6. the assessments must be valid, reliable and fair

Course duration:

  • There are 30 Guided Learning Hours for the Introductory Certificate in Neighbourhood Management

Entry requirements:

  • There are no specific entry requirements for these qualifications. However, candidates should, as far as possible, satisfy the prior learning guidelines for the Institute's Level 3 Certificate in Management; this is to enable progression, should the candidate wish to do so

  • London (Wembley). Our training facilities are conveniently located within a walking distance from Wembley Park and Wembley Central tube stations as well as Wembley Stadium station. We are close to the M1 and North Circular (map)
