Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Teaching Sector

The PTLLS course is suitable for anyone teaching or wishing to teach in colleges and other teaching environments or who is a trainer in industry, business or public services. It is also a really useful starting point for people working in education who want a better understanding of the roles and responsibilities of teaching. By 2011 PTLLS will be mandatory for any trainer or teacher.

The PTLLS course has been developed for anyone entering teaching or training roles or already in service who needs to achieve the minimum threshold status as a teacher in the

STRC Management Centre will enable you to achieve your PTLLS qualification using highly experienced and qualified QTLS tutors

To facilitate learning and helping you enhance your teaching skills, you will benefit from our own fully equipped filming and training facilities

Content of the training:

  • Section 1: Understand own role, responsibilities and boundaries of role in relation to teaching
  • Section 2: Understand appropriate teaching and learning approaches in the specialist area
  • Section 3: Demonstrate session planning skills
  • Section 4: Understand how to deliver inclusive sessions which motivate learners
  • Section 5: Understand the use of different assessment methods and the need for record keeping

Assessment:
This course will be assessed through two written assignments and practical 30 minutes filmed micros teach.

Course duration:

  • Five day intensive course
  • Three day fast track course

Entry requirements:

  • Candidates for the 5 day course should have a good standard of written and verbal communication skills.
  • Candidates for the 3 day fast track course should be experienced tutors/trainers and must currently be practicing in a teaching/training role

Level 5 Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Teaching sector (DTLLS)

Costs:

  • The five day course costs GBP430, this includes all course materials, certification, refreshments and lunches
  • The three day fast track course costs GBP320, this includes all course materials, certification, refreshments and lunches

  • London (Wembley).  Our training facilities are conveniently located within a walking distance from Wembley Park and Wembley Central tube stations as well as Wembley Stadium station. We are close to the M1 and North Circular (map)
